What is UDOIT?
UDOIT, or Universal Design Online Inspection Tool, is an accessibility tool in Canvas that scans your online course content, identifies possible accessibility issues, and guides you through how to resolve those issues (Cidi Labs: UDOIT User Guide). Duke has a license for the UDOIT tool, and it is automatically enabled in all new course sites for ease of access and use. The tool is named ‘Accessibility UDOIT’ in Canvas, and you can find it in your course sites in the course navigation menu (as seen in the screenshot on the right).
What is the UDOIT Superstar Badge?
To encourage the use of UDOIT and recognize instructors working to improve the accessibility of their course sites, we have established the UDOIT Superstar Badge. This is an alternative credential digital badge that you can earn by checking for and resolving accessibility issues in your Canvas courses using UDOIT.
Why should you earn the UDOIT Superstar Badge?
Earning this badge is a great way to improve your knowledge of accessibility in Canvas. Additionally, by earning this badge you can show your colleagues and students that you value accessibility in your Canvas course sites. Once you’ve earned the badge, you can display it on your course homepage, share it on your LinkedIn profile, or share it in other ways to celebrate your achievement. These types of digital badges offer a concise way to showcase your achievements and communicate your skills and competencies.

How do you earn the UDOIT Superstar Badge?
