Overview

Microsoft Education brings Microsoft 365 teaching and learning tools into Canvas. The integration allows instructors and students to use supported Microsoft tools from within their Canvas courses while continuing to use their Duke Microsoft 365 accounts.

Microsoft’s current Canvas integration includes tools such as Microsoft Assignments, OneDrive, OneNote Class Notebook, Teams, Teams Meetings, and Reflect. Available features may vary depending on the tool and course configuration.

How to Use

The Microsoft Education Canvas tool allows seamless access throughout Canvas – including Canvas gradebook. It is located in multiple locations throughout the Canvas platform:

In the Assignments tool, select Submission Type and choose “External Tool.”

In the Modules tool, select the + button and select “Add External Tool.”

In the Rich Content Editor, select Apps icon and select View All.
